Martin has been the insurance broker for the BPA for six years, during which he has saved the association £2m in insurance premiums with a quantified analysis of the insurance risk and a detailed understanding of the risk management systems within our sport, and by placing the insurance outside the traditional aviation market. During this time, he has also been appointed as broker by the BHPA. He initiated the BPA Risk Management fund which has supported a wide range of risk reduction initiatives, including the BPA Award for Safety Innovation in Sport Parachuting sponsored by Romero Sports & Leisure (brokers) and Liberty Mutual Insurance (underwriters).
