Sant is a longtime member of the Scottish Gliding Centre and a very active mentor for glider pilots.
He is a former chairman of the Scottish Gliding Association and plays a large part in organising the Scottish Inter-Club League competitions each year and a program of winter lectures. For the last two years he has provided a weekend morning weather briefing where he sets challenging soaring cross-country tasks suitable for beginners and experienced pilots.
Sant organises early morning launching on soarable days. He co-ordinates NOTAMs for glider access to FL100 and above without transponders. Without this work, many height and distance flights would not have been possible.
Sant continues to be an inspiration both because of his boundless energy, enthusiasm and coaching as well his own achievements. He won the BGA cross-country ladder in 2017 and in 2018 flew an incredible three 500km tasks in one day
