Paul has 12 consecutive FAI Championship team Gold medals to his name and his performance in the F2A Speed team has been vital in the Team continuing their unprecedented run of consecutive Championship team gold medals. At the 2011 European Championships, he won the individual Bronze with a speed of 302.2kph. At the 2014 World Championships in Poland he won the individual Silver with a speed of 301.1kph. He had recorded two flights over the 300kph mark and had led the field from the second round but the fourth round single Championship flight of a competitor from the USA lost him the gold medal by 0.1kph. At the 2015 European Championships in Bulgaria he was crowned European Champion with a winning speed of 302.1kph. This speed was instrumental in the UK winning the F2A Team Gold medal again. Paul has also held World speed records continuously for 23 years, starting in 1987 with a speed in the 2.5cc class of 313.0kph, and upping it to 335.0kph in 2001. This was only superseded by just 0.8kph in 2009.
