Paul Brice

Paul Brice

Paul is an active international aerobatics competitor at Advanced level, flying the very latest Extra 330SC in this year’s World Championships in Romania. For many years he was also a keen glider pilot, competing successfully in national BGA cross-country contests, a sport which he has vowed to return to in the future. He also competed in the inaugural World Intermediate Championships in South Africa in 2014, finishing as the UK’s top contestant and helping secure the FAI Silver Medal for the team.

Despite a demanding day job, Paul has made the time for the last ten years to run the British Aerobatic Association finances as its Treasurer. Throughout this period his accuracy and eye for detail have ensured that the BAeA remains on a sound financial footing against a general background of declining general aviation participation. He has contributed hugely to the overall strategy and development of competition aerobatics and has earned special recognition for his robust governance and professional standards.

Most recently Paul has also been encouraging youngsters to the sport through his concept of `Get into Aeros’, which he and his team have run to offer a taste of aerobatic competition to newly qualified pilots through aerobatic-themed weekends. This is a very successful initiative which the BAeA is looking to evolve as a core activity in its contest calendar. Paul cites the Junior Gliding movement as his inspiration for the events - a great illustration of cross-fertilisation in air sports.
