Bob served in the RAF for 23 years on the Vulcan, Jet Provost, Hawk and VC10 then flew commercially for 6 years on a business jet and the Airbus A320/321 before joining an oil refinery as a Process Operator for 8 years. In this last job he built his Vans RV8 which won best UK kit aircraft in 2012. Now retired Bob flew his first full race season in 2015 with a narrow victory over the previous double champion - "the highlight of my aviation career".
