Peter Kember

Peter Kember

Peter is a town planner by profession but an aviator by inclination. He flying as an air cadet, gained a PPL in 1984 and has since accumulated over 2,000 hours on a variety of types. He was the first customer to complete a Europa kit aircraft and his experience was used to improve the build instructions for later constructors. He went on to build a second Europa which was exhibited as a Millennium 2000 project, was a founder member of the owners’ club, serving on its committee and becoming its President. His expertise has allowed him to qualify as an LAA inspector, advising and supervising the work of other builders to ensure that their aircraft meet the required standard.

Peter has used his planning experience to advise over 80 airfield owners and operators in dealing with objections and other threats and still acts as an aviation consultant in this field, being planning advisor to MPs, the Light Aircraft Association and the Flying Farmers’ Association. It was therefore natural that Peter would become a founder member of The General Aviation Awareness Council and a member of the CAA’s General Aviation Consultative Committee. He is also a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
